I consider myself incredibly lucky to have ma's diaries and the opportunity to have gotten to know my great-grandmother, who passed away almost 25 years before i was born.  Through the dozens of hours I've spent with her throughout this project, i find many traits of hers in her granddaughter, my aunt chris.  like ma, no one is more resilient or hard-working.  i also see in Aunt Chris ma's fierce loyalty and dedication to those she loves.  Additionally, she also shares ma's support of the local farming community.  I am forever grateful for our relationship and having such an incredibly funny, strong, smart and caring role model.
